This week has been quite different, and all about my Third Year Presentation. I created a Prezi in which I talked through the aspects of my creative journey which has led to where I am at now.
I found the experience useful as a way of informing myself, as well as others, how my ideas had moved on, and the journeys' I have taken to where I am now. Although presenting in front of people I had never really met before was scary and daunting, I really enjoyed communicating my ideas to the group, and it actually made me excited about my own practice and the opportunity I have this year.
I have been thinking about the work I used to produce within my foundation year in 2012 (at the very beginning of the Prezi), and I feel that this was clearly when I was most confident in my practice. I am going to start using fashion imagery again, as well as interior settings to create narratives.
I realised my work is consistently saying something about narratives and self-documentation/representation (how we document our lives), specifically with regards to female representation. I believe that I am trying to communicate a social comment which depicts the 'celebrity' we create of ourselves on online profiling, such as Instagram.
I want to try to create a series of GIF images, as this gives me the opportunity to document myself creating the work as well as a new aspect. I have started by scanning in a collage I have made at each stage of its development as a bit of a practice, and I am excited to refine this technique and find new ways of making them so that they give a more refined finish.Next week I will be back onto focusing on researching and writing my report, as well as creating these GIF images when I can find some time.
